Hi all,
Last Thursday, at my 32 week appointment, my OB let me know that she wanted to schedule a growth scan because my fundal height was a little smaller than they typically like.
I’m not panicking and I know there are a lot of variations of normal, but does anyone have any insight on this?
The growth scan is two weeks away, which feels like a long time for something like that…

I don’t have insight for your exact condition, but this might help you. I had a marginal cord insertion with my first baby and they did growth scans every month. I was so bothered at first because I felt like a month was way to long between ultrasounds. He turned out healthy and was a huge bay thankfully but it always worried me.
I think ultimately a lot of what they do is precautionary. I’m guessing they’re just double checking to make sure everything is okay and that’s why you have to wait two weeks. It feels torturous when you have to wait, but I think the risk is low if they’re waiting that long. :) hope that helps!

I’m 31 weeks and had an appointment today- I am measuring behind as well and going back tomorrow for an ultrasound growth scan I’m trying not to freak out and hope to have clarity tomorrow. I’m glad I’m not the only one positive thoughts sent your way!

I’m 31 weeks and was measuring 3-4 cm/weeks behind for fundal height at my last appointment. Had my growth scan on Friday and baby is perfectly on track! This is my second and I measured small for fundal height with my first as well and he was born totally average size! I think it can really depend on your stature and how you carry!

This happened to me with my first. Baby ended up measuring on track and had no signs of distress or anything. I’m tallish and have a long torso. She did end up being born a pound less than they estimated at another US I had the day I was induced but all was well, she was and is just smaller and a little tall as well just like me! This time around I’m measuring 2 weeks behind on fundal, but they haven’t been concerned enough to order a scan yet.
