Exciting Day at Keiser University's Miami Radiology ProgramWe were excited to host experts from the Miami Cardiac and Vascular Institute today, shedding light on the fascinating field of Interventional Radiology (IVR) and the role of IVR technologists. They brought with them essential tools of their trade—stents, valves, catheters, and pacemakers—enriching our students' learning experience with real-world insights.Additionally, representatives from Mt. Sinai Medical Center joined us to discuss their organization and career opportunities, engaging deeply with our students' queries.A huge thank you to our guest speakers, faculty, and students for making this event a success. These interactions are crucial in bridging academic learning with professional practice, and today was a testament to that.Carlos George, BHSA, RT(R) Kevin Nicholas, MSN, RN, CV-BC Lordany Milanes Nadine Vulf#Radiology #IVRTechnologist #HealthcareEducation #KeiserUniversity

Today we kick off MRI safety week.Premier Radiology Services prides ourselves in making imaging safety a priority. Our ownLaura Rebello, R.T. is very knowledgeable and experienced in this field and welcomes any questions that you may have.MRI Safety Week is an annual event dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) safety. It was founded several years ago to celebrate and promote excellence in MRI safety. The observance supports the sharing of information and resources to support magnetic resonance imaging safety. This year, MRI Safety Week takes place from July 23-29, and marks the 22nd anniversary of the MRI accident that drove the modern-day importance and emphasis on excellence in MRI Safety.MRI is a powerful diagnostic imaging technique that uses a strong magnetic field and radio waves to produce detailed images of the internal structures of the body. While MRI is generally safe, it can present risks if certain safety guidelines are not followed.During MRI Safety Week, medical professionals, radiologists, and imaging centers often conduct educational campaigns to inform the public and healthcare professionals about the potential hazards and safety precautions associated with MRI scans. The goal is to promote understanding and adherence to safety protocols, including screening patients for contraindications, ensuring the proper use of MRI-compatible equipment, and preventing accidents related to metallic objects or devices in the MRIenvironment. MRI Safety Week is an important initiative to ensure the safety and well-being of patients and healthcare providers during MRI procedures, as well as to reduce the likelihood of incidents and accidents related to MRI scans. For more info, visit: asrt.org #PremierRadiologyServices #Radiology #Teleradiology #Mammography #OutpatientImaging #OccupationalHealth #UrgentCare #Multispecialty #RadFellows #MRISafety

Radiologists Address the Most Common Safety Issues for MRIEducation and awareness are key to preventing MRI-related incidentsOver the past twenty years, the field of MRI safety has grown. There have been widespread efforts to standardize safety protocols in MRI environments, including required institutional safety operations. However, it is often the lack of knowledge about MRI safety protocols and guidelines that result in incidents, according to Emanuel Kanal, MD, professor of radiology and neuroradiology, and director of MR Education and MR Services at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.https://lnkd.in/dfjceq39 #SafetyFirst #AdvancedTechnology
