The observance supports the sharing of information and resources to support magnetic resonance imaging safety.This year, MRI Safety Week takes place from July 23-29, and marks the 22nd anniversary of the MRI accident that drove the modern-day importance and emphasis on excellence in MRI Safety.MRI is a powerful diagnostic imaging technique that uses a strong magnetic field and radio waves to produce detailed images of the internal structures of the body. While MRI is generally safe, it can present risks if certain safety guidelines are not followed.During MRI Safety Week, medical professionals, radiologists, and imaging centers often conduct educational campaigns to inform the public and healthcare professionals about the potential hazards and safety precautions associated with MRI scans.
