The development of the Internet and the abundance of digital resources, in addition to the emergence of new forms of teacher collective work, lead to new developments and uncertainties in teaching and learning of mathematics. These upheavals have given rise to new theoretical needs: how to analyze teachers’ work when they prepare for their teaching? How to conceptualize the relationships between individual and collective work? How to follow the related processes over the long term? What Do Teachers Expect from Textbooks? The Study of the Process of Choice of Textbooks in Brazilian Public Schools

Two studies were carried out in order to investigat e the process of choice of textbooks in Brazilian public schools. One of these studies focu sed on teachers who teach science in primary school (06-10 years old), while the other one focus ed on teachers who are effectively teaching general science to young students in junior high sc hool (11-15 years old). These studies aimed at understanding the relevant variables in the teacher s ́ choice of science textbooks. Brazilian Federal Government provides textbooks for all publi c schools, subsequently to an assessment process of the books produced by commercial publish ers within the National Textbook Program (PNLD). In the process, the teachers have to choose a set of books for four different grades, and are expected to decide together which book set will be used by all of them, for all the students in the same school. This paper reports the creation of an innovative teaching situation for acid-base balance content. This “situation” occurred through instrumental genesis process. Here the computer is the artefact that becomes an instrument when a new element is introduced. The situation reported herein was observed during classes given to graduating student-teachers of Licentiate Course of Chemistry of Feira de Santana State University, Brazil. The theoretical framework is based on several concepts integrated: documental and instrumental genesis, instrumentation and instrumentalization, orchestration and anthropological theory of didactics.

Our article examines how a science teacher, at high school, uses for her CLIL lessons some resources that she downloaded from Internet websites. For our analysis, we refer to two theoretical frameworks: the documentational approach of didactics, the Joint Action Theory in Didactics. We analyse the effects of the teacher's representations of “good” resources according to the language used in class, and of the use of such resources. We eventually produce recommendations for teacher training.

Desde la década del 50, el acceso a la educación superior se ha ido incrementando con el pasar de los años, pero ese acceso no ha garantizado la permanencia y egreso del nivel superior. Por el contrario, hay una preocupación generalizada por las bajas tasas de graduación en la enseñanza universitaria. Centenares de estudios de larga data tratan el desgranamiento y el abandono que atraviesa la educación, así como varias instituciones han creado diversos programas de tutorías y apoyo para que los estudiantes cuenten con una contención que les sirva como andamiaje en sus estudios cuando comienzan en el nivel superior. A su vez, encontramos diversas investigaciones sobre el estudio de la relación existente en los textos seleccionados por las cátedras para la enseñanza y el vínculo con el desgranamiento y el abandono educativo. En particular tomaremos como punto de análisis el retraso, postergación y/o abandono en la carrera de Bibliotecología que se cursa en la Universidad Nacional de Mar del Plata tomando datos cuantitativos y cualitativos analizando las distintas variables poniendo el énfasis en la relación existente con el abandono producto del ingreso al contexto laboral.
