It would be good to know if the current work-arounds have been cut off and whether there are any new ones required. Users of those old systems will want to know before they decide on whether to upgrade to Win11 or not.The only computer on which I would be willing to try it doesn't meet the Win11 minimum requirements. I've seen some stuff on installing it as a VM, so I may try that if noboady else has anything to report.Message 1 of 6 Me too0Kudos Reply StephenBGuruMark as NewBookmarkSubscribeSubscribe to RSS FeedPermalinkPrintReport Inappropriate Content ‎2021-11-1703:45 PM ‎2021-11-1703:45 PM Re: Anyone running Win11 with a legacy NAS?@Sandsharkwrote:Has anyone tried accessing a legacy (OS 4.1.x, 4.2.x, or 5.x) NAS with a Windows 11 preview? This works using both the NAS IP address and the hostname, though I suspect the hostname will continue to be a bit hit-or-miss.I can't test 4.2.x or 5.3.x, since I don't have NAS running either of those.Message 3 of 60Kudos Reply SandsharkSenseiMark as NewBookmarkSubscribeSubscribe to RSS FeedPermalinkPrintReport Inappropriate Content ‎2021-11-1807:16 AM ‎2021-11-1807:16 AM Re: Anyone running Win11 with a legacy NAS?That being the oldest of the OSes, I suspect the others will also work fine. Good to know they left in the ability to turn on SMB1. Is yours a Home or Pro version? Just want to be sure turning on SMB1 is possible in the Home version. Even if I get it on a VM, I only have keys for Pro.Message 4 of 60Kudos Reply StephenBGuruMark as NewBookmarkSubscribeSubscribe to RSS FeedPermalinkPrintReport Inappropriate Content ‎2021-11-1810:16 AM ‎2021-11-1810:16 AM Re: Anyone running Win11 with a legacy NAS?@Sandsharkwrote:Is yours a Home or Pro version? This was using Win11 Home.Message 5 of 60Kudos Reply SandsharkSenseiMark as NewBookmarkSubscribeSubscribe to RSS FeedPermalinkPrintReport Inappropriate Content ‎2021-11-1810:40 PM ‎2021-11-1810:40 PM Re: Anyone running Win11 with a legacy NAS?Using Win11 Pro on a virtual machine, I can confirm that a NAS running OS 4.2.31 or 5.3.13 is reachable via Edge or Chrome (user or admin GUI) and via SMB with once SMB1 is enabled. Network discovery actually seems to be working better than in Win10.Last question regarding compatibility with ReadyNAS is if ReadyCloud works on it. Neither I nor@StephenBuse ReadyCloud, so has anyone tried?Message 6 of 60Kudos Reply All forum topics Previous TopicNext Topic Top Contributors UserCount StephenB23Sandshark17mpeline1CustomVideoLLC1Campus1 See AllDiscussion stats5replies ‎2021-11-1705:59 AM2054views0kudos2in conversation Announcements
