The former Dalton High School star and daughter of Catamounts and University of Tennessee football legend Bill Mayo returned to her alma mater as head coach four years ago with the girls' basketball program at one of the lowest points in its history. After posting just one winning season in the previous seven years, Harris's teams have won 20-plus games three years in a row, including this year's 21-win Lady Catamounts, who made a run all the way to the GHSA Class AAAAA semifinals. Harris, known as a scrappy, win-at-all-costs player, brought that mentality back to Dalton, and she believes it's a style that will consistently produce winning results. “I hope this run is leading to continued success,” said Harris, who counted heavily on seniors Emma Hefner, Grace Ridley and Kemara Washington.

Winning it all isn't anything new to Crawford. After all, she won a junior college national championship as part of the Chattanooga State softball team and was an assistant during Heritage's GHSA state title three-peat from 2018 to 2020. However, she had not experienced being a championship-winning head coach — until this season. The fourth-year head General, who replaced Tanner Moore after 2020, rode a dominant year in the pitching circle from junior Addie Edwards, a powerful top of the lineup led by senior Harper Carstens, and an aggressive style that has been Crawford's trademark in fashioning the 28-3-1 season.
